Profhilo® is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.

Profhilo® delivers great results as a treatment on its own or can be used in combination with other aesthetics treatments.

This dual action makes it deal for remodelling skin laxity whilst offering a longer lasting hydration to the epidermis. It is ideal for anyone 25 plus who wants a glow and lifting effect on their complexion. The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement, consequently resulting in a significant tightening/lifting effect on the tissue.

Results can last up to 6 months, however a monthly treatment for anti-ageing such as Microneedling can offer effects that last beyond the typical time frame.

WHAT IS PROFHILO?

As a stabilised product Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.

Anyone who presents with signs of skin ageing and is suitable for dermal filler treatment is also suitable for treatment with Profhilo. Once injected, the product immediately starts spreading due to the high concentration of HA and its cohesive nature.

Profhilo is creating a real buzz amongst the practitioners many referring to it “as something they have been waiting for” or as “the most exciting development in injectable treatments in a long time”.

WHAT DOES PROFHILO TREAT?

As a skin rejuvenation treatment, anyone can benefit from Profhilo. In youthful skin, it promotes healthier skin resulting in a dewy, radiant appearance. Contrastingly, in those with sagging or dehydrated skin, Profhilo promotes healthier, hydrated, and firmer skin.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME AFTER PROFHILO TREATMENT?

During your treatment we use specialised 5 BAP technique where you receive 5 small injections using a minute needle which tends to leave the skin with minimal side effects following treatment! You will have slight swelling only and small bumps that should subside 12 – 24 hours after treatment, Occasionally small bruises may occur although not common.

DOES PROFHILO HURT?

Due to the very superficial nature of the injection site, profhilo is fairly painless, some people experience a stinging effect when the product goes into the skin.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE PROFHILO?

Two treatments are required 4 weeks apart, we then suggest you repeat the treatments in another 6 months.

Pre-treatment Advice

Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)
Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment.
Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
Schedule your Dermal Filler and Anti-Wrinkle injections appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation.
Results from the Dermal Filler and Anti-Wrinkle injections will take approximately 4 to 7 days to appear. Also bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.
Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.
Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area. If you have a history of cold sores please let your provider know, they may put you on an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of light headedness during your treatment.
You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Aftercare Advice

(UNLESS OTHERWISE ADVISED BY YOUR PRACTITIONER)

Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area. Unless instructed by the provider.
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours.
Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling. If you have swelling you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
Use Tylenol for discomfort. Try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling.
Take Arnica to help the bruising and swelling, start at least 2 days prior to injections.
