A PRP or a platelet-rich plasma facial treatment is a rejuvenation treatment for your skin that is an alternative to a surgical facelift. It is notable and has attracted a lot of interest because the procedure uses your blood.

There are a variety of amazing benefits you can gain from having a PRP facial Or hair loss treatment.

The micro-needling technique is already associated with stimulating the growth and reproduction of collagen, but when it is combined with PRP, you are essentially getting a double whammy of a collagen boost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Human blood is made up of four main components – the platelets and plasma and white blood cells and red blood cells.

When you have the treatment, a small sample of your blood is taken and placed into a centrifuge. This spins the blood around and separates the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells.

FACIAL

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma facial, is also known as a “vampire facial.” This treatment includes microneedling the PRP into your skin to improve its texture and overall appearance.

PRP facial uses a small amount of your blood to obtain platelet-rich plasma. It is a component of the blood that contains stem cells and growth factors.

The microneedling process creates thousands of small pathways in the skin. This allows the growth factors from the PRP to reach a deeper layer of the skin where cell growth occurs.

The tiny needles used in microneedling trigger the body’s wound healing response. This mechanism results in an increase in collagen production.

HAIR LOSS

The treatment starts with blood being taken from your arm, similar to a blood test.

Your blood is then placed into a tube. Inside this tube will be a separation gel which will isolate your platelet-rich red blood cells from the plasma that makes up your blood.

For this separation process to be completed, your blood, along with the separation gel will be placed in a centrifuge machine.

The end product is what’s known as platelet-rich plasma or PRP. This solution is injected into the thinning areas of your scalp that are showing signs of hair loss.

The PRP hair injections work to stimulate the growth of your hair. It does this by extending your hair’s growth cycle, as well as helping to facilitate the rejuvenation of your hair follicles.

Scientific literature shows evidence that PRP works for hair loss and promotes healing by releasing growth factors, which come from the platelets and are released to the thinning areas the treatment is applied to.

Cytokines are also released which help this process too.

The truth is that although you might feel a slight amount of discomfort once you’ve had the treatment, this will only last for a couple of minutes.

Afterwards, there are very few side effects associated with the procedure.

Although there is always a chance of side effects and infections when injections and chemicals are involved, the great thing about PRP facials is because they use the platelets and plasma from your blood, there is very little chance of you suffering an allergic reaction or an infection.

HAIR LOSS

80% of men and around 50% of women suffer hair loss at some stage in their life. This disorder is generally known as AGA – Androgenetic alopecia.

While there is no known 100% effective cure for this disorder, one therapy that has been shown to be effective is Platelet-rich plasma – PRP hair treatment.

FACIAL – COLLAGEN STIUMLATION

Although it’s different from person to person, most people tend to see results like general skin tightening, along with fullness and glow to their face, within just a few days.

The best thing is that those positive results can last for many months. You will need to have further PRP facials to maintain the positive results, but normally you only need to have it a few times a year, its an ideal treatment to combine with microneedling facials.

Depending on the condition of your skin or severity of your hair loss and the kind of results you are looking to achieve, it is best to have a group of 4 to 6 treatments with intervals of two weeks in between each to allow your skin to recover.
