Microneedling

Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short, sterilized needles into the skin for rejuvenation. When the skin feels these pinpricks, your body will naturally rush to heal them, resulting in a plumped, more youthful appearance. A microneedling device comprises micro-fine needles that range in diameter from 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. But, if the prospect of multiple needle wounds sounds slightly ominous to you, know that the punctures are more like pinpricks that enter only surface-level deep. We work at different depths depending on the specific skin concern.

Microneedling is used to treat a variety of skin conditions that cause depressions in the skin such as acne scarring, surgical scars, other scars, burns, enlarged pores, wrinkles (rhytides), and stretch marks (striae). We also use microneedling to prolong treatments such as profhilo, jalupro, treat pigmentation, post inflammatory hyper pigmentation, Rosacea and ageing skin to stimulate cell turnover and collagen production.

The product we decide to needle into your skin largely depends on the condition we are treating, this also determines the depth of needling as different skin conditions require us to target different depths.

Although microneedling is a relatively painless procedure, you may still experience some discomfort. There are a few things you can do before and after the procedure to minimize the pain you might experience. See pre treatment advice.

Healing from microneedling usually takes a mere 24 hours. However, it may take up to two to three days depending on the extent of the treatment. You are free to resume normal activities 12-24 hours after treatment and wear makeup 24 hours after your treatment.
